This antimicrobial compound is added to the powder-coating mixture to create a finish that inhibits the growth of bacteria and mold, and is seamless, eliminating cracks where germs can hide.

Unlike commonly used disinfectants, which are organic, germs will not develop an immunity to this inorganic compound. And since this compound is embedded in the powder coating, it will remain silently effective for many years.
